At a national level, Patrice has been President of the French Waterski & Wakeboard Federation since March 2009 and also sits on the board of directors of the French National Olympic & Sports Committee (CNOSF).

In addition to Patrice, 23 other candidates who have competed in different editions of The World Games’ 40-year long history, representing 24 different sports, as nominated by their respective International Federations for the World Games Greatest Athlete of All Time vote have also been announced.

Voting begins on Friday, 8th January 2021 and the towed water sports community is requested to vote daily for Patrice Martin. Everyone can vote once every 24 hours.  Like last year, World Games Athlete of the Year,  you will also need to vote for another candidate at the same time. The first candidate you choose, Patrice Martin, gets two votes, and the second candidate you choose one vote.

We started with this initiative a year ago, in order to get The World Games family to know each other better; after choosing your favourite, you will choose a candidate from another sport too. This way you will get to see who else is there and with what kind of background story,” IWGA’s Communication Officer Anna Jacobson explains.
