The 2019 Nautique Moomba Masters begins tomorrow on the Yarra River in downtown Melbourne, Australia. The best 3-event waterskiers in the world compete in one of the most prestigous waterski events in the world.
This year’s first major international waterski championships will once again set the pace for the rest of the 2019 season. Dating back to 1955, this 57th Moomba Masters will host over 200,000 fans on site at the spectacular river-bank arena in the shadow of the City’s skyscrapers. As part of the city-wide Moomba Festival, over one million visitors will enjoy this long weekend Labour Day holiday.
Few major international sports events attract such a high caliber of athlete every year. Included are current IWWF World Men’s Slalom Champion Freddie Winter (GBR), IWWF World Women’s Trick Champion Neilly Ross (CAN), IWWF Women’s World Jump Champion Jacinta Carroll (AUS), IWWF World Men’s Overall Champion Felipe Miranda (CHI), IWWF World Men’s Trick Record Holder Aliaksei Zharnasek (BLR), IWWF World Women’s Trick Record Holder Erika Lang (USA) and current World Games Women’s Trick and Jump Champion Natallia Berdnikava (BLR).
