A FISU World University Championships Inspection Team led by FISU Waterski and Wakeboard Technical Chairman, Phil Chase and Championships Department Staff Member Alejandro Guerra visited Dnipro, Ukraine last week to inspect the site of the 2020 FISU World University Waterski & Wakeboard Championships.
While in Dnipro, they inspected the competition site at the Sentosa Waterski Club, proposed hotels, the proposed site of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and attended several meetings with Organizing Committee members and both National; and Local government officials.
All things are go for what is expected to be the largest and most well attended FISU World University Waterski & Wakeboard Championships ever, Organizers have the full support of the National Sports Ministry, National University Sports Federation and the City of Dnipro, all of whom are committed to making this a spectacular world-class event. The Sentosa site should yield both great performances and, with a brand new adjacent City Park, great crowds as well. Dnipro is a city of over a million people and this new city park will be one of their most popular gathering places.
The FISU University Championships, which for the first time will include wakeboard, will be held between September 22 and 27, 2020..
Detailed information concerning the event will be released by the organizing committee shortly.
Any questions requiring immediate attention should be referred to Phil Chase.
