IWWF Reports that FISU (International University Sports Federation) strongly condemns the conflict in Ukraine, which is incompatible with the goal of a better world through peaceful sporting competition. FISU is calling for dialogue and for peace.  FISU expresses its deepest concern for all those in the Ukrainian university sports community, their friends, families, colleagues and all Ukrainian people.

Following a meeting of the FISU Executive Committee last Friday, FISU has withdrawn the FISU World University Waterski & Wakeboard Championships from Minsk, Belarus that was scheduled to be held Aug 24-27, 2022.  FISU has also withdrawn the FISU University World Cup Powerlifting from Moscow and the FISU University World Cup Rugby Sevens from Kazan.

FISU will continue to closely monitor the situation before making further decisions. If it is possible to reallocate and reschedule the hosting of these events, FISU will make further announcements in due course.

The IWWF is presently seeking a new host for this event and hopes to have more information in the next few weeks.
