History was made today in Doha, Qatar when first ever ANOC World Beach Games’ waterski jump and wakeboard gold medals were awarded at Lusail Promendade.
Belarus’ Aliaksandra Danisheuskaya won the first gold medal in women’s jump with 49.5 metres, with Jutta Menestrina from Finland winning silver with 49.3 metres and Hanna Straltsova from Belarus the bronze with 49.0 metres.
Russia’s Vladimir Ryanzin recorded the longest jump of the day 59.9 metres to win the gold medal ahead of Belarus’ Stepan Shpak 59.2 metres and Chile’s Emile Ritter 59.1 metres
Current IWWF European Champion Sanne Meijer from the Netherland added another title to her list of achievements, the first ANOC World Beach Games’ wakeboard women’s gold medal, edging out Italy’s Aice Virag who won the silver medal and Team USA’s Jamie Lopina winning the bronze medal.
Former IWWF World Champion and current IWWF European Champion Massimiliano Piffaretti from Italy did his country proud by winning the men’s wakeboard gold medal with a flawless run. Current IWWF World Champion Cory Teunissen had to settle for the silver medal and Team USA’s Guenther Oka taking the bronze medal.
The ANOC World Beach Games Qatar 2019 , is the inaugural international beach multi-sport event organized by the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) scheduled over five days, 11th to 16th October 2019, in Doha, Qatar.
