The first medals were awarded today at the IWWF World Waterski Championships in Putrajaya, Malaysia
In the Women's Slalom event, Manon Costard (FRA) won her first IWWF World title edging out defending world champion and record holder, Regina Jacquess (USA) and Jaime Metcalfe (NZL)
In Men's Trick Pato Font (MEX), who has been on fire all year winning the Moomba and USA Masters, won the gold medal, followed by Pierre Ballon (FRA) silver and Martin Kolman (CZE) bronze medal.
Team USA will be looking to defend their Team Overall title and will need to look over their shoulders at France and Canada.
